I would love to see such a feature in the trainer. Ex. select the item to be edited in game. Then the trainer will read that item listing what can be changed. So say you picked up a legendary by accident with no bonus slots. Now you can add the slots into the item. With the new slots added you can choose from a drop down menu of what mods to add and their level ex: common, uncommon, rare, epic, legendary. I realize that implementing this might take a bit of work. Perhaps limiting to your first slot for weapons and clothes that are equipped would make it easier. Mainly I want slots since I didn't know about re-rolling my gear.
I don't expect this to happen, but is an idea. If anyone knows how to do so in game (console) would be of help for me as well.

Debug console was removed, won't be likely. Maybe if/when it returns but that sounds like more a modding thing than a trainer thing.

You can use cosmos to edit values on the gun, but only until something triggers a change in your stats. Like drawing a weapon, or swapping weapons. So you'll probably have to wait for a modder to figure out how to handle this in a more persistent way.
