From what I see, it's on backer build 5 and not even the full game, a trainer at this point maybe fruitless.

Anyone knows how to edit ships' tonnage/capacity and the like? Would appreciate it greatly.

Dunno if it will make a difference but the game seems to be released in full now. Some of the early missions would make a trainer that protects ships and crew pretty useful.
