I though I might have a better chance of getting my question answered here than in the Fallout 3 board, I'm wondering If the GOTY version of Fallout 3 for sale on the Bethesda Launcher is windows 10 compatible and crash free?

As I remember F3 was never updated by Bethesda. You need to use mods and players tutorials to run it on Win10.

I notice a mod link on the launcher but I'm nor sure what I'm looking for from there, and is there a mod to make companions invulnerable? or close to it

There is a mod available on nexus mods that is called Ultimate companion overhaul that makes all followers essential, it also removes the restrictions needed for you to take them and you can take more then 1, i can put link but don't know if it's allowed for teh site
