First, I have installed the new .NET Core. The MW5 trainer does function, but I am seeing strange graphic glitches in the trainer UI and sound does not work at all. I've tried repairing .NET and DX9. I've reinstalled both video and sound drivers. Slightly older trainers (like Age of Wonders:Planetfall) work perfectly. I also tried pulling down the new Darksiders trainer (even though I don't have the game) and the UI on it does the same thing as MW5.
I've included a screenshot of the UI after the glitches occur.

Does this happen when you mouse HOVER a control? Do you have any overlay tools running? MSI Afterburner, Fraps, etc?
I've seen this issue on Microsoft developer discussions and it turned out an external software which hooks windows drawing APIs incorrectly was the cause of it.

And regarding the sound see if you can play an MP3 file with Windows Media Player. If you dont hear sound as well you might missing MP3 codec.

Thanks for the responses. The graphics glitches appear to be from an overlay that is included with my sound card software. As I never use it, I disabled it and no more visual glitches on the new trainers.
For the sound, I never install Windows Media Player on my systems and have never run into a dependency issue with it before. However, as soon as I installed it, audio prompts started working again on the new trainers.
