I have .NET core. Using command prompt, I found
8.0.412 using dotnet --list-sdks,
& Microsoft.AspNetCore.App 8.0.18, Microsoft.NETCore.App 8.0.18, & Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App 8.0.18 using dotnet --list-runtimes.
The trainer says I need .NET Core but doesn't say which one.
It also has me push a button like it's going to take me to download it now, & then I sit & stare at my screen & drool like that user interface pattern is going to do what it's supposed to.
Internet research tells me an application will tell me which version of .NET Core I will need, & that I can install them with each other.
Going to Microsoft & trying to install other versions tells me that I already have a newer version of it & can't install another.
I putting Shenmue 3 in the "Hidden Games" trash. This post is just a warning to other people. I don't care what the right answer is from who anymore. I have spent 5 hours across multiple games trying to figure out tech issues in the past 2 days in Arkham Asylum, Saints Row IV, & SMH3 & I've pretty much had it. Good luck out there people.
For all older, pre Aurora trainers, you need both .net and exclusions listed below.
.NET Core 3.1 Desktop Runtime x64: Link
.NET Core 3.1 Desktop Runtime x86: Link
.NET Core Runtime x64: Link
.NET Core Runtime x86: Link
You would need all 4 of these, and you might have to clear any other versions you have.
You also should get the latest framework on this link

Exclusions needed:
C:\Users\usernamehere\Cheathappens
C:\ProgramData\CheatHappens
C:\Users\usernamehere\AppData\Roaming\Cheat Happens
C:\Users\usernamehere\AppData\Local\Temp\CH_Temp.tmp
C:\Users\usernamehere\AppData\Local\Temp\~Mnn133.tmp
C:\Users\usernamehere\AppData\Local\Temp\CH.dll
C:\Users\usernamehere\AppData\Local\Temp\~CheathappensTrainer.tmp
C:\Users\usernamehere\AppData\Local\Temp\~CheathappensTrainer42.tmp
C:\Users\usernamehere\AppData\Local\Temp\~CheathappensTrainer540.tmp
C:\Users\usernamehere\AppData\Local\Temp\~CheathappensTrainer762.tmp
C:\Users\usernamehere\AppData\Local\Temp\~CheathappensTrainer915.tmp
Note the .tmp files doesn't appear before trainer is running, so you might have to exclude the Temp folder until the trainer run and then remove after you find the .tmp files needed.
