Most likely only the steam trainer has been reported not working. Then only the steam might get updated. Without more info from trainer maker on this I can only presume this is the case.
Has been the case on other trainers also.

Sounds like a never ending update sequence on this game I got no idea what are they updating though.

I just updated this two days ago spending two hours on it now another update.

Trainer is working normally!
There was no new update, it attaches normally on STEAM latest version and all options are working as intended!

Of course, there is still a possibility of game crashing, but that's due to game's Anti-Cheat system, that is sometimes overzealous.
Only advice, if it crashes, try again!

person with the AOB cannot find resources is playing on gamepass as far as I can tell.
