New trainers just crashes after launch but older ones like monster hunter works. I saw some threads where people have solved their issues but i'm a hopeless PC noob so I can't follow what they did

Make sure you have both of these installed:

NET Framework Runtime 4.7.2 or above: dotnet.microsoft.com/download

NET Core Runtime 2.1 or above: dotnet.microsoft.com/download

Be sure to right-click on trainers and run As Admin.

    And from the Troubleshooting Guide:

My trainer is crashing when I press F1 or when I try to activate any of the options.

    Solution 1:
Temporarily disable/uninstall all antivirus, firewall and other security software. This type of issue can be caused by interference of third party software, typically security software. Some security products will still block or interfere with trainers even when disabled. Some must be completely uninstalled or the trainer and its temporary files whitelisted. Consult your security product documentation for instruction on how to do this.

    Solution 2:
Make sure you fully extract the trainer from the .rar, .zip or .zipx archive before trying to run it. When running it, please right click on the trainer .exe file and choose “Run as Administrator”. It may also be necessary to do this on the game as well. Trainers need full Windows permission to access the game in memory and create temporary files. It may also be necessary to give full permissions to the Windows TEMP folder.

    Solution 3:
Make sure the trainer version matches the game version and distribution. If the game has patched since the trainer was last updated this can cause a crash. This may also happen if the trainer was created specifically for the Steam version and you are using the Origin version or some other distribution of the game. Distributions and versions supported by each trainer are listed on the game’s index page. If there has been a patch, you can use our trainer update notification system to let our staff know. This can be found on each game's index page.

I have installed both and tried all of the troubleshooting guide stuff. It still doesn't work for me. When I launch it, it opens and the cheat happens logo shows up and then just closes. Is this because of the recent windows update?

Also make sure the path to the trainer does not contain any unicode/special characters. This has been fixed recently but some trainers have not been updated.

If that's not the case take a look at the event viewer of Windows and look out for a crash entry and post its details here.

I have the exact same problem with the same error code in the event log. :/

Also with the Borderlands 3 Trainer.

Even tried reinstalling DirectX9 since it seems to be a d3d9 related error.

I agree. It seems all the new trainers with the new hexagonal logo don't work.
