Then just use lower level weapons/shields and gimp yourself.

That takes the fun out of finding more powerful gear, which is one of the major draws of BL3.
So just to be clear. You want to lower your legit gained character level?
Yes, I want to lower my legit gained character level.
So just to be clear. You want to lower your legit gained character level?
Yes, that is correct.
The rational, it least for me, is that the game is way too easy and so I like to have everything 4-5 levels above me to increase the challenge.
Not to mention that if you do all the side quests then you become way too over-leveled for the main quest and that's just no fun.
Being able to lower my level allows for the game to still be challenging and fun for me.
Well the EXP resets too. It won't be saved when you lower it. I currently don't see way to lower the character level.

So what's the difference between raising the level and having it stay permanently vs lowering the level and having it stay permanently?
The trainer can raise the level permanently so it seems like it should be possible to lower the level permanently.

So, you can age in real life and it stays permanently so why can't you un-age and have it stay permanently?
Just because you THINK or WANT something should work a certain way does not mean that it will. If 0x90 says that it's not possible then it's not. Drop it.
