Have the same issue as weskersc. Game is installed on non-standard drive/location. Is there some special permissions missing? Everything is run as admin, following directions precisely. This is a new system and it worked fine on the old, but in the C:\ default location.
Can you try installing the game on the C: drive and see if it works again?

Re-installed to C: . same issue. Game will run fine on its own, however as soon as i try using one of the launchers, which are in the game folder, it gives that error. After closing everything, I can no longer launch the game standalone via UPLAY, i have to do a repair every time.
Trying again...
I cannot replicate. I tried both launchers and they work just as described in the instructions. Game launches and the trainer is able to be attached.

After doing a lot of digging I found this:
This is from Battleye FAQs Page.
When starting my game with BattlEye enabled, I get the following error message: “Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item.â€
This is likely caused by you trying to use an unsupported Windows 10 Insider build. While we try to support the latest builds as fast as possible, there can sometimes be delays related to a number of factors. Until then you will have to downgrade to an official public build of Windows 10.
Christ.. maybe it's good to see that the game runs WITHOUT OUR TRAINER first? How is our launcher supposed to launch a game that you cannot launch without our trainer to begin with?
Thanks for informing us.

Cal
