Hey everyone, this is something new for me and I was wondering if I could maybe get a heads up on where I went wrong.

Over the past few years whenever I download a trainer outside of the occasional bug or crash or user error <-- Namely me. Everything has always worked great.

    "Trainer Activated!"

    "Activated!"

    You know, the usual.

    -----

Just recently, like in the last month however. I can't hear the traier when it activates nor any of the options. Everything still works, I just can't hear it.

So like a normal person I open the trainer and went into settings and tried to test the sound without a game running. No sound still plays... so... I don't know what I did, anyone got any ideas?

One thing you can check is right-click on the speaker icon on the lower right of your Desktop in the System Tray and select Open Volume Mixer. With the trainer open check if the slider for Cheat Happens is all the way up in the Volume Mixer.

My DS4 likes to set it's speaker to my default sound device. It's not the only thing I've seen do this on w10.

Also, check trainer settings and make sure "mute all sounds" or some such isn't disabled in the options or global options.

So that's another thing I guess. The trainer doesn't even appear in the volume mixer. I tested an OLD trainer just to see. (EX. Papers Please Trainer) and I can hear that one just fine.

Newer trainers however don't even show up in the volume mixer.

I don't have any speakers, I just use headphones.

i too am having this exact same problem. The trainer doesnt appear in the volume mixer but does in the task manager. While in game, using the numpad doesnt activate the options either but if i alt tab and turn em on with the mouse they work.

tried running audio troubleshooter, disabling all antivirus including windows defender and firewall. Downloaded the latest netcore.

Launched a older trainer and it showed up in my volume mixer and worked fine. So leads me to conclude something about the new trainers.

ok well half progress has been made. i am now able to turn the options on/off.

turns out in addition to the netcore you also need the sdk:

    dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-core/thank-you/sdk-3.1.300-windows-x64-installer

Still cant get the sound to work. still doesnt show up in volume mixer

ok got the sound working. Turns out had to uninstall and reinstall Windows media player via the settings in windows 10.

    support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/14209/get-windows-media-player

Dont know if this made a difference but i aslo launched the trainer, unticked text to speech, exited trainer. unintalled reinstalled windows media player. Then launched the trainer again
