Why on God's green earth would you expect these guys to patch for beta?
If they did for whatever reason patch the trainer for beta, if you opt in to the beta, you're supposed to be kinda testing it for the devs and giving them some feedback. You should not be playing with a third party cheat trainer because that defeats the purpose. It's hard to report a problem when you can't be exactly sure if it's the game or the trainer causing it.

They're beta'ing patches before normal patch release, which you can opt into
so please, read up on stuff before insulting people

Hey! I'd just want to give my 2 cents on how i do my Invincible unit method.
Same as previously mentioned, I always do it on the deployment phase (e.g. before you hit the Start button)
1. Do the necessary formations and all
2. With the formation in place, select all units, either manually dragging the cursor, or by CTRL-A.
3. Toggle on Invincible option whilst still selecting the units.
4. Click an empty ground (and make sure no units are selected)
5. Toggle the option off.
This should do it most of the time.
If you're not too sure, repeat step 2 to step 5 (whilst still in deployment phase)
And if it didn't really work for you and you see it happen during battle, do the same, (i,e step 2-5) whilst the battle is running and not paused, it should only take you like 2 seconds max for you to complete the whole sequence.
I tried doing it how you described, but it does not seem to work for me. I even tried leaving the option on, and I still lose troops.

EDIT : All good now. Was getting an error saying :

Opted for the BETA update and that fixed it.
