I prefer physical. Repeatedly, in different comments on Youtube or in groups in the "vkontakte" wrote, that I do not like the modern treatmet to gamers, both from the gamers themselves and from the developers and publishers. People began to perceive the closure of online services and the inability to buy the game, because it is removed from the stores, as something normal that needs to be taken. I can describe many more reasons why I do not like the situation that is happening now in modern times, but it's difficult for me to formulate thoughts in English, but I think that you caught my thought. I do not want to live in renting and renting games, and worrying that someday I will not be able to buy any game in the online store, or the DLC to it. I want to pay, and have full ownership. Previously, in the days of PS1, PS2 and other retro consoles there was no such garbage.

You see, digital games can get kind of tricky. So far it hasn't been a huge issue but if you look at the popular DRM terms and conditions (see Steam and Ubisoft specifically) and as I'm sure many are aware, when you purchase a digital game from these DRM...well, you aren't actually buying the game. You're buying a license to play the game, a license which can very well be revoked. Since Origin generally only has games that EA produced in part or simply published, it's a little less likely to remove access. That is, unless you violate their terms of service in such a way that they remove access to your account as per their terms, in which case all the games you bought are officially gone and you have no right to a refund.

In Steam's case, however, more than once has Steam lost licensing to sell that game. Now, I know some games (such as Fable III) are still on their servers for download and play and as such aren't such an issue for people who already had it. Sadly, with them down, there is nowhere you can get Fable III for the PC anymore, unless by rare happenstance you find someone with a key selling it for $150. However, as per Steam terms, if they lose a contract with a company, there is nothing stopping them from revoking the game entirely. Even people who bought the game a week prior would have virtually no defense in getting their money back, unless their credit card company was very consumer-focused.

The only way around this is the following: GOG

Good Old Games can't really be considered a DRM in my mind. If you go over to their website, you'll find that they are very focused on making sure when you buy a game from them, it becomes 100% yours. When you buy a game, they give you a download link for the game. You download the full version of the game and play it on any of your PCs without having to log into anything or download a third party program to "verify that you own it." The trust they place in their users for this is what has kept them in business and keeps them thriving. I own multiple games on it and simply download the full copies in a neat little zip file.

Knowing all this, it really is up to you how you want to go about your gaming - but keep in mind that many "physical copies" of games are now still requiring you to use an included product key, which means when you buy it you're stuck with it and will likely have to use some sort of DRM anyway.
    I'm a better cheater than you.~

The only reason I don't like digital is because the evergrowing fear of steam or some other store closing down and losing all the games with it. I have a large library but its just a scary thing to imagine.

I understand your worries but I don't think steam will disappear that fast. 🙂
The only thing I'm worried about is to get hacked and all games are lost!😥

I prefer digital copies, because you can get them much cheeper from keyresellers as in physical store and download them whenever you want and don't have to deal with the discs. Also its much faster for downloading/installing as from discs.
I bought my last PC without a physical drive because of money.... but I later upgraded It that I can at least play older games I got physical copies of.

babes, bullets, bombs. damn - i love this job!

There's can play them and do play them. Have you actually played any older games on disk or are you like me too busy with your digital libraries to play them?
