Trainer most likely needs an update, see if the versions are still a match, if not then Please use the update notification system to report a game patch, update or to report that the trainer may not be working with the latest version of the game. If 3 or more reports have been filed, consider BOOSTING the priority of this title for a faster turnaround on the updated trainer.

Can we have it so that achievements aren't disabled with you use this? defeats the purpose of it. In non-ironman games you can just use the conlsole, don't need a trainer. This trainer should be for iron man use right?

The trainer allows the ironman console just like it says. You want achievements, EARN THEM. There are no trophies for cheating or just showing up like you were probably taught.

you cannot use the console at all in iron man. You also cannot save. This trainer option lets you do both. I have no idea if it disables achieves. It may have anti cheat.

If it's useless, let me know and I will remove it. I have no idea how/if it's got some mechanism in the save game or console that disables achieves.

It's not useless. It's quite useful. Ironman alone can be a bit of a love/hate session not using anything but the extra saves option. I've had an achievement pop on accident when using the trainer and ironman mode, so some of them can still work.

I assumed the achievements were disabled, but it's still fun to play ironman with the saves or/and some console for the fun of it. I think a lot of people expect ironman achievements to be working by default since the other PDX titles have had such luck before.

Regardless, great trainer

My question though is still what does the cohort option do or how does it work? I might be missing something obvious but I can't find mention of it or an example of it working so far.

It's NOT an achievement if you cheated to "earn" it. No matter how you spin it. We're not in the business of making trainers so you can "cheat" achievements. The same reason we don't put an "auto win game with one click" in our trainers. It's pointless and useless unless you only want to say that you "beat the game" when in reality you pressed a button to do it for you.

Using the console in Ironman is only useful if you can still get the achievements. It is the only reason to play Ironman after all. If you don't want to gain achievements there's no reason to play ironman, and so you can use the console at any time.

Now PWizard made it very clear that they feel they shouldn't be making cheats to help people gain achievements, and though I personally disagree, this is his site, so his rules apply.

The issue arrives however that in previous PDX games using the console in Ironman was used to gain those oddbal achievements that PDX puts in, that normally take 60 hours of play just to get to a single action, and then the rest of the game is pointless. As such using console in ironman became a much sought after option.

Most people who see this option in this trainer will assume it will help them gain achievements, and will be dissapointed when it doesn't work that way. Perhaps it would be better to remove the option, or alternatively make it very clear that achievements will be disabled. That way people won't get upset and start posting unpleasant comments here.
