The option is defiantly not useless. My feedback was purely meant to help any troubleshooting you guys might be doing. I enjoy this feature and it is a great tool when starting over, and you need to level up fast.

The most helpful use case for editing inventory is to increase the number of power shards or slugs.
An option to spawn a bunch of those would solve too.

This does work.....he just wrote the instructions poorly.

So loaded up my base from experimental and this option wasn't working. When I would start a new map it would work. Played around with a map editor and confirmed it wasn't progress related because I could delete my entire map and it would work. Then I tried deleting my entire base until I just had a power station left and it still wasn't working. Started testing by removing random components from the power station. It wasn't until I removed all splitters that this option started working again. Built an unconnected splitter...it still worked. Once an item passed into the splitter, it was broken again until I deleted the splitter.

Took this info back into a new game and sure enough, as soon as I built my first splitter and an item passed into it, the option broke. Not sure if that is helpful information for someone to fix this. It is also very possible other buildings are breaking it too...this is just the one I ended up finding.

I found something intresting they may want to rename the option Easy HUB Upgrade to something like Easy M.A.M. Upgrade cause that only effects M.A.M. my guess cause they disconcted it from HUB now and guess that code only effect MAM building only now.

This is not needed.

Just press 3 and 8, find a slug and collect it, then go to MAM, research slugs, then go to workbench and you can make max number all the time (purple makes 5 each hit).

For me (Steam release) this option never worked.
I tested it on a map I already had Space Elevator, on the map that was almost empty and just minutes ago I started brand new map to check info about splitters messing up with trainer.

In none of the case option to edit clicked items worked.

Maybe something changes in the last update about how game handles the inventory slots?

Yes , there is something funky going on with the inventory edit option.
Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.
Perhaps the way it works: its item bound or slot bound?

The editor shows me random numbers from 30-1, like its an assembler.
This option is very useful for late in game parts. (like smart plating etc etc)
