Hmmm... I installed the .Net Core 2.2 Runtime and SDK, but every time I launch the trainer I just get the rectangular CHEATHAPPENS splash screen and then nothing. Like others, I got the game from Epic. Everything installed properly, but trainer won't run. 😭

Not sure if this is related to the trainer and anybody else is having this issue. When I use the trainer on the level Caspian-1 and go to pickup the rambler shotgun, that specifically has the 8 shot revolver cylinder attachment the game immediately freezes, if I salvage the parts from the weapon and then go to equip the 8 shot cylinder, the moment you choose the 8 shot cylinder the game freezes. Now this is very specific to the 8 shot cylinder for the rambler shotgun. If I use the shotgun with the 3 shot cylinder no issues. The game crashes and have to restart. Very specific situation, not sure if it is a trainer issue or a game issue. If not running the trainer it still crashes for that specific situation. And I did all the normal stuff, no av running, etc.
the same thing happened to me, I disabled all weapon-related options in the trainer & no more crash:
Unlimited Ammo/Crafting
No Reload
No Weapon Overheat
not sure which option was causing the crash.
