What exactly is the item you want to change? If its a ware such as wood it should work but if its an item it does not. Someone posted a solution for items some pages ago I believe it worked the way that the item has to be added to expedition and once the expedition ends and the ship returns the item became valid.

You can use the ship inventory editor and just save and load this savegame - this will make the items usable! No matter what the item was previously, it will just become the new thing and works as intended. Even the Raw ID works like a charm - but be careful, if you change the Raw ID, you have to use tab to save the change!

A list of all items and the ID,s can be found with this little program where you can filter and search for all items (even DLC ones, can,t confirm if you can use them without the active DLC):

But be warned:
One thing I,ve observed is that the editor some times did not get the right/selected ship - and showed the inventory of a complete different ship or gibberish. Don,t know if it is the reason but it seems to have this behavior if you have many ships on the current location (@progs of ch, ship id could be a long or unsigned on the selected pointer? if I find some more infos I,ll post them); To work around this i used my new world biome with less then 10 ships, where it seems like the trainer does not have any problems.

TL;DR; Use Ship Editor for Items:
1. move the ship you like to edit into the map with the least amount of other ships.
2. fill the ship with any item you like and don,t have hard feelings destroying (preferably white ore green ones, could be freshly bought or already owned ones)
3. select the ship and {alt} + {tab} to the activated trainer
4. change the ship inventory (if you like, u can use the RAW-ID for the first slot and you can obtain any item you like - but read the rest of this post first!)
5. make sure you have not focused (no blinky blink | ) the Raw ID Textfield (if - press tab)
6. go back into the game
7. save your game, wait till the >game saved< message appears ({Strg}+{S})
8. load the newly saved game
9. profit?!

Hi, it seems like it also works with ships coming back to a region/biome.
I had some cases of this strange glitch where the selected ship wasnt registered by the trainer but can not provide clear steps to reproduce.

Hello, when I use one of the options for the latest trainer on Anno 1800, the option coined ; the notepad is very vague about this, but everytime I activate the option it affects all the npc boats as well. I don't know if that was intended, from the looks of it, it doesn't seem so.

I love Cheathappens.com and have been a lifetime member for years. The best investment that I ever made. Just a heads up, the Steam version of Anno 1800, WHAT A GREAT GAME!!!, has been upgraded recently to 6.2.910481, trainer still reads 6.1 907433, so far no issues, but forewarned is forewarned.
