The game has already had an update, 1.1GB on steam. It might have just be the release of pre-order and collector's edition content though.

The Update was around 2,3 MB. 2 small fixes only. I bet you downloaded the CE and pre order bonuses.

And you can edit the money in the save file under documents easily.

Any chance you can tell me how you did that? I tried several ways and nothing works for me.

Didn't try it for myself. But if you go to "Documents\Egosoft\X4\53731586\save" and open the .gz archive of your save (for example with WinRar) and open up the .xml there should be an variable called "money" on the first page. I bet you only have to change this value to edit it.

does editting the xml file work ? dont know if i'm doint it well

I am attempting to edit that file mentioned above. So far no success but I'll update if it does work.

Update: I was able to get into the file and edit it directly but the changes are not saved on game start. I'm not sure where it's preserving the old data in the save.

Alright, editing the files directly will not work as far as my skill can determine (Not much there though). Also, just a reminder, when doing anything with the Registry BACK IT UP. Spent the last 3 hours trying to fix mine. It's all fixed now. So there you have it. The average user cannot change values via this method.
