Hello, I've recently ran into a problem that any newer trainers I try to download, I run into the dreaded "Windows can't open this file : ~CheatHappensTrainer####.tmp".

I followed all the instructions on the old thread, even going as far as to delete every antivirus/malware/etc program I have, and turn off all windows defenders, but still nada.

I also tried deleting the temp folder and letting it create a new one, but still nothing.

I made sure to run as admin every time, and use the "extract to" option when getting the trainer. The most curious part is my older trainers still work just fine!

    Someone please help :C

Delete trainer and all files in

    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp
    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens\Work
    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Roaming\Cheat Happens\0x90

Reboot PC to clear excess memory, get a fresh copy of latest trainer and
make sure trainer in is folder excluded from virus scans. Empty quarantine folder if needed.

    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens

has to be added to exclusions as well. Run trainer as admin and try again.

Very important to empty the quarantine folder as win 10 you cannot uninstall the anti-virus as it is built in. If it was flagged it will still be there until it is dealt with.

I apologize for the necro of the thread, but I've followed all those steps and still nothing, I get the same error message.

I tried downloading the trainer manager, seeing if that would help, but nothing still. I tried changing it to open .tmp files using the trainer manager, but now it'll disappear and say "One instance is already open" when I try and still not open.

    I really need help, please.

Try getting ccleaner, run the registry tool and reboot. Or, maybe resetting default apps in windows settings.

Or you can start by telling us what Windows OS edition & version and what security software you run.

temp files to add to exclusions for certain trainers.

    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp\CH_Temp.tmp
    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp\~Mnn133.tmp
    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp\~CheathappensTrainer.tmp
    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp\CH.dll

or the registry entry for the trainer was duplicated and not pointing to the updated one. seems to be happening more sine windows update. Run ccleaner's registry tool and reboot.

oh oh. you are going to need to turn your a/v off to add it to the exclusion. As most a/vs I have picked about delete the file and wont add it to the exclusion list.
