I downloaded steam+uplay version as I got non plus version, but it says theres a new trainer, while technically there is one above it, it doesn't fit for my version, wasn't this issue fixed sometime ago?
Maybe next version, now that everybody has changed their platform names again, our naming system just got more complicated, so maybe longer...
How is the super damage option now? Does it work without any NPCs dying?
They still die if hit by enemy, just exit to main menu load back in and *poof* their alive again to talk to.

That helps explain nothing at all, please give more detail in how you tried to use the trainer, what platform you have the game on and is your security software blocking it? Need more to go on than "working trainer don't work" and that statement itself makes no sense. 😵
You need to be in the ability screen first then activate it, then either tab to a different screen and go back to it or just spend a point after activating, the value should update, was working for me when I tried it using Steam version.
I don't think that function wants to work for me at all. Using both those methods, hotkeys on and off (I had to alt-tab from the game while in the Ability tab for off), nothing that should've happened, happened. It was as if I'd never picked the option. And it's not as if I didn't use reasonable values, I picked 625 first, then just plain old 25 (the default value) later.

Clean out any older trainer data that may be still in the working directories and try it again.
Delete trainer and all files in
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens\Work
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Roaming\Cheat Happens\0x90
C:\ProgramData\CheatHappens

Reboot PC to clear excess memory, get a fresh copy of latest trainer and extract it. Run trainer as admin, read the instructions and try again. At times, a new game may be needed to resolve failed options if the data in your save file was altered. Use on a new game and test the option. If it now works, quit to main menu and load your save and try it again. May also need to run the game without the trainer first and play a bit so the save file gets updated to use possible new values.
Some of the functions also does not work for me as well. (i.e gold, xp, ability points)
I tried the troubleshoot solutions suggested but no luck
