Hey, guys, I have to give an update to you guys about Bitdefender .. i mean it's an AWESOME antivirus, but it utterly is destroying anything I download from you guys.

    I allow you through
    - Firewall
    - Advanced Threat Protection
    - AntiVirus

However, when I start the hack - it creates a .tmp file which is detected by the Antivirus, once this file is created / detected it finds the source, the trainer, quarantines the trainer and then proceeds to make the file unedtiable. Completely locked the file down and not giving me or anything else permissions to access the My Trainers file.

I mean I have no way of allowing a file through the exclusions if it isn't created until the hack is launched, and once it's launches the tmp file created is detected and it back traces to the hack. I just dont know what to do.

Yeh, BitDefender is the worst security product on the planet when it comes to trainers. I personally would get rid of it and find something more compatible.

One or two things about Bitdefender 2018:

Most of our trainers create a *.tmp file. Either in the Windows Temp folder (old trainers) or in this location -> C:\Users\YourWindowsUserName\Cheathappens\Work\ (our current trainers).

You can exclude the trainer exe file or a folder where you store all our trainers and this Work folder from above in the ANTIVIRUS module of BD.
When it comes to the ADVANCED THREAT DEFENSE module, it's a bit odd. One cannot whitelist other than *.exe files there, so you have to disable this module manually prior to launch and while you use our trainers.
Then there's the SAFE FILES module. If you store your trainers in a location monitored by this module, you can either whitelist the *.exe files (one at a time, again, no other files than *.exe) or disable this module too when using our trainers.

BD is going to tell you that your system is vulnerable after you disable the ATD module. A similar function was already in BD 2017 consumer products, but hidden in the settings and disabled by default. - So, you decide if you actually rely upon it or not.

Besides all of this, we already had reports from other members that their BD 2018 quarantined legit files like game exe files. So BD is sadly not that good any more.
Good for health, bad for education.

BitDefender 2019 still has same issue , They only way i get of Hacks to play is Disable Advanced Threat Defense before i launch them.

They work fine on all the 20+ games i have so i can be done , Annoying yes but does work
I have tried to Set Expections to . TMP file to no luck also.

    Keep up good work Team

For the current 2021 version. There are 2 places that you need to exclude to get the trainers to work.

    1. The Trainer.exe itself needs to be added into the Exceptions for All Exceptions.
    2. Add a new Firewall Rule and add the Trainer.exe and set it to allow.

It's funny you mention this, I left Kaspersky Cloud Security because they started blocking my trainers, and switched to BitDefender Ultimate Security. I spent a good deal of time on the phone with BitDefender Level-II support about this exact issue. I added all the appropriate folders to the whitelist as needed but some of the older trainers use the tmp file in the TEMP folder which of course Advanced Threat Protection calls a PUP. The person from BD support told me that I needed to whitelist the exe for the temp file. I explained that it is a different name each time and asked how to add a file to that whitelist with a mask (trainer****.tmp or trainer????.tmp) for instance. His response was that their software is not that advanced..

I switched briefly to Sophos, which was ok but I spend enough time at work managing the EPM for 100+ employees and Sophos is pretty much the bulk of their EPM without patch management built for an {end-user} not a SecAdmin.

Ultimately I am now using Norton 360 Deluxe I package, and after a few minutes with wireshark and getting the ip/port info for the trainers and what they connect to for authentication, I was able to add the appropriate UDP/TCP rules for the destination IP in the Norton firewall settings, and I have not had an issue since..

Norton seems to have really pulled themselves together as of late and put out a quality product again rather than the usual falling on their name for the last 10 years or so.
