So most of my trainers, for example Dying Light, will freeze and become unresponsive if I click the Instructions tab and try to use the mouse wheel to scroll the text. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix?

That is definitely odd, Open your task manager and try it again and see if anything causes your memory to spike really high.

Performance tab then click the bottom where it says resource monitor in blue and go to that windows memory tab to see what is on top.

Also make sure there is no active or live scanning or monitoring from any security software.

Nothing strange with memory, but there is a CheathappensTrainer####.tmp process which sits there using 15% CPU before the game is even running. Also, "Usermode Font Driver Host" and "Desktop Window Manager" become active with 5-10% CPU as well until I close the trainer.

I think this really only started happening when the trainers got the new look and feel, older trainers don't do this. Sometimes the Instructions will not even full load (this happens frequently with the Dying Light trainer) and then I can't switch to any other tab, the whole window becomes unresponsive except for the close button at the top-right. I have to just exit the trainer, re-open it, and not click the Instructions tab. I can still use the trainer, but sometimes I like to read the instructions too. I thought for sure I wouldn't be the only one with this issue, but I didn't find any similar posts about it.

That temp file is normal and should be there once trainer is started. Open up your temp directory and delete everything it will allow you to delete that is inside it.

    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp

and this one just to be thorough.

    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens\Work

reboot and try again, make sure to right click trainer and run as admin.

If it still happens, Some cut and pastes of any errors from "event viewer" would help as well. (under windows logs folder on the left and then highlight system) Look for red and yellow entries which happen at the same time as trainer was running.

Come to think of it, you may just need to re-install the latest .NET frame work.

Thanks for the quick responses. Unfortunately those steps did not work. The issue continues, I even tried the same trainer file on a different PC and got the same behavior. .NET is also up-to-date. No events of any kind are logged in Windows either. I wish I had more to go on, which is why I hesitated in making this post. But I was very curious if anyone else had seen this before. I've had this problem for a while, years probably, but only posted about it now.

For now I guess just open the readme.txt and use that for looking up the info, that's what I do and just drag it over to a second monitor. I'll ask the rest of the gang and maybe we can come up with a solution. Any system specs you could jot down would be great.

Thanks again, I appreciate it. This is definitely just an oddity for me, the trainers do still work normally in-game.

I have Windows Defender running but with the following exclusions:
    C:\My Trainers
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Cheat Happens
    C:\Users\username\Cheathappens
    C:\Users\username\Downloads\

I think these are all the relevant folders for CH.

I have also attached a system info export, slightly redacted.
