As you can see by the ? beside the trainer info, Windows 7 is not officially supported. You can actually upgrade to Windows 10 for free, I believe, at this point.

Changed security setting Chrome, downloaded trainer no problem, unzipped and when I tried to open, Defender wouldn't let me. Watched your app video, turned off app blocking and still would not open and directed me to page asking what app I wanted to use to open, still with a virus warning. No way to open it, delete file and defender okay again. Downloaded warhammer 2 and troy trainers, no problems at all...

Restart your pc, then disable defender completely. and make sure to run the Trainer as admin.

when i go to open trainer it attempt to open and then doesnt, eventually delets its self.

It's your anti-virus/security. Exclude the trainer from scans

Extract trainer and make sure trainer/launcher/editor is in a folder excluded from virus scans. Empty quarantine folder if needed or set anything trainer related (paths and EXE's) to ALLOW. Disable any Live/Active/Real-Time tools which may trigger false positives in security software which may terminate the game/trainer when it's activated or options used.

C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens

may need to be added to exclusions as well. Run trainer as admin, read the instructions and try again.

After I download the trainer, it will not extract, sayiing archive is either an unknown format or damaged. I'm uising Win.RAR.

Doesn't have this issue with any other trainers I downloaded recently.

Edit: never mind, has something to do with firefox browser.

For whatever reason ALL of these 20 year old Total War games got a re compile after 5 years of no patches. Wasn't needed, wasn't necessary, but it completely screwed up and new code created, so all the options are broken. Since they are doing this with ALL of them, it's created a lot of work out of nowhere that wasn't necessary, and we have to go back these 20 year old games to re make entire trainers. So dumb. At any rate, this will take time, and it's compounded in that they keep doing this with more and more of the Total War Series. So NO ETA on these game updates. It will happen when it happens. If you are dying to play WITH a trainer, then roll back to the previous patch that has been stable and working for 5 years with no issues, and didn't need this new compiler recompile for any reason whatsoever, and use the trainer for that version. Otherwise, we will get to the latest patch of these old games that didn't need a patch when we finish up newer and more popular, and more precent game trainers.

You'd think if they were going back and re-compiling these games, they would want to maybe look at Attila and ToB and maybe fix it so it doesn't run like absolute ass. Lol.

Regardless, I've never had to downgrade a game before on Steam. I tried doing it through the Beta Participation but every time I went to launch the campaign it would just crash. Before even starting any trainers. Is there a recommended version I should downgrade to for now?

I am really am astounded that they went back and threw this update out there for absolutely no reason. 😅
