there was a copywrite collection of data you had to sign. but i've turned off my internet since then. in single play mode. still going
There is a anticheating app called easyanticheat in the game data, if you remove it it freaks out. I assume that is there for the multiplayer aspects (From what I can tell you do not need to play multiplayer) but it seems it is loaded into the game on launch.

I was already able to completely turn off EAC, you can turn the service off by going to task manager and opening the service.
Also if you rename the SAOFB_Launcher.EXE you can then name SAOFB.exe into SAOFB_Launcher.exe and steam will launch the game directly without even trying to launch Easy Anti Cheat.

-rename "SAOFB_Launcher.exe" to something else
then
-rename "SAOFB.exe" to "SAOFB_Launcher.exe"

Yes, exactly.
If you wanna be absolutely sure EAC doesn't run in the background you can go to task manager->services-> EasyAntiCheat->Open Services-> EasyAntiCheat->set automatic to disable.
It won't even start up atall.
Though other games that have it will now give an error.
Or
If it starts up you could just turn it off in Task Manager.
@Stranger Thanks for that information, seems to work fine. The game does give a message about multiplayer might not work on load for me but it continues running after that.
Strange, not getting any sort of message and for me CoSMOS crashes and CE gets an access violation.
