You have to obtain the 4 guardian items to have the complete set & then wear the complete set before you open an ancient chest & then you may or may not receive the guardian staff.

I had to wear the guardian set and open 2 or 3 ancient chests before I finally got the guardian staff. It is not some grand 1 hit kill weapon, but if you are a completionist then you will want to get every item in the game & this is one of the many items.

Once you have the complete set, here are some ancient island locations you can try your guardian set on to hopefully get the guardian staff quickly. Good luck and I hope you get it on your first try, but just in case you don't I listed a few ancient islands you may not have visited yet:

Just a little more info for you. You do not have to wear the guardian set before the island loads in order to get the guardian staff. I was worried about that myself when I did not get the staff on my first try.

I say that because you have to wear the crown of the pirate lord before the pirate islands load in order for some of the pirates to turn into the king challengers. You have to kill 50 king challengers and like 3 or 4 named pirates in order to upgrade that crown.

So, I got worried thinking I had to do the same thing with the guardian set. Turns out I didn't.

So don't panic thinking you have to wear the guardian set before the ancient island loads in order to get the guardian staff because you don't have to.

Also, I know these ancient islands are far out. That is the point. More than likely you have not ventured out this far which gives a higher probability that all my locations listed are new locations for you. Which means you have not opened a chest you have not visited
