I tried several older trainers recently and used the customizer to remap the keys; I noticed that there is only one "CH-Trainer-Keys.dat" file.
Would placing each trainer in a separate folder fix this? Would I have to put the trainer and the customizer in each sub-dir?
    Thanks for any ideas.

Yes, your assumption is correct. The created custom key file needs to be in the very same folder as the customized trainer.

I set up sub-dirs for all older programs and copied the customizer and the appropriate trainer into each folder. So far I tried Sniper Elite 2 and 3 first; 2 had trouble, and 3 did, then I realized/remembered your advice.
I ran SE3 and noted all the mapped keys, a lot of which i had changed, including every key east of the Enter key; keeping in mind I was going to remap "Q" through "\", any key there was remapped in-game. Then I ran the trainer and the customizer and created and saved the custom remap. It worked! There were one or two keys that needed some fine tuning, but overall success with running trainers in separate folders for games that need custom remaps.
    Thanks.

One other thing; the Manager no longer sees the games in the sub-dirs with the modified key files.
Would it be possible to modify the Manager so it saw sub-dir?

Until further advances, I'm using all my trainers in separate folders, but use the Trainer Manager to see when a newer trainer (those starting with numbers) get updated. This involve to create a folder only for the Trainer Manager 🙂
