What is the deal with Windows Defender should be the question.

Can always submit the file to them, and when they see it's clean and safe they could have it removed. Now that it was flagged your probably going to have to clear your protection history or click on it and set it to ALLOW to use the trainer.

Any ideas what is causing this, the trainer refuses to work.

Trainer is 2 patches behind, have you tried the cleaner?

Please delete the trainer, custom keys, debug folder where the trainer resides and all files in

C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens\Work
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Roaming\Cheat Happens\0x90
C:\ProgramData\CheatHappens

Reboot PC to clear excess memory, get a fresh copy of latest trainer and extract it. Run trainer as admin, read the instructions and try again. At times, a new game may be needed to resolve failed options if the data in your save file was altered. Use on a new game and test the option. If it now works, quit to main menu and load your save and try it again. May also need to run the game without the trainer first and play a bit so the save file gets updated to use possible new values. This typically will resolve the issue.

This cleaner is also part of the new Cheat Happens Trainer Manager 2.0, it is found in the settings and has an easy to use one button click feature.

May need an update if above does not do it.

Please use the update notification system to report a game patch, update or to report that the trainer may not be working with the latest version of the game. If 3 or more reports have been filed, consider BOOSTING the priority of this title for a faster turnaround on the updated trainer.

I have tried the suggested cleaner .bat file still no dice. I'll try the manager see if that will work.

Is the game Modded? trainer is just for vanilla game, so if one of the mods altered the exe in anyway it would break it.

Was the last test on the trainer, nothing changed with the game after that.

Yes the game is heavily modded and the trainer worked fine with it, but suddenly stopped working. I don't have the game running yet just trying to start the trainer before the game, but unfortunately I can't due to this error.
Oh, I almost forgot, I also tried running the trainer using the manager and still no dice.
