FYI, in the latest update of the game, they've added the option for an unlimited lance cost. Running 4 Atlas against a light recon without using the trainer is now possible.

The trainer for update 0.5.0170817 does work with the latest version of Battletech. If you click around your mechs whilst the trainer is searching it will usually find the entry and work for both armour and internal structure options.

The lance budget and heat options seem to work without any problems.
