Despite its faults, I'm enjoying it. The writing isn't as bad as people made it out to be, at least not for me. The animations are wonky, but I've never really cared about graphics. I can look at a still portrait and I'd be fine. There are some pretty bad companions, but also some fun ones. The combat is pretty awesome, and is my favorite part. I'd guess my biggest peeve is the transition screens from planet to planet, and from planet to space, if they'd do away with those(or make them optional) I'd be happy.
As for multiplayer, I've not tried a minute of it.
Overall, I'm pretty sure I'll end up playing it again at some point in the future, unlike Dragon Age Inquisition which I've only played the once.
"The tools may be more effective than those who battled before you but make no mistake, you are no less a barbarian than your ancestors with their clubs and rocks. The only difference now is you do it without honor; cowering behind your guns, your bombs. You don't use tactic, just force..."

Completed it (no spoilers don't worry)
I enjoyed it, it was different to ME original series which is what Bioware/ea wanted to do. I enjoyed the story but the is a LOT of unanswered questions, as well as a lot of possibilities (makes sense I suppose for dlc / follow up games).
It is was not as amazing as ME1 was vs its competition when it came out, but as now we have The Witcher 3 setting the bar this game does feel lack lustre in comparison. I suspect that is just because W3 was so damned good it spoilt us.
Compared to other new releases it has the same issues, bugs everywhere, rushed out the door, needed more polish. But every AAA title is like that these days....
Was it work the money I paid? Yes & no, I got 60+ hours out of it with nearly 100% completion for £45. Do I regret buying it? No. could it have been better value for money? Yes - factorio gave 150+ hours for £15. But as a story driven rpg, am not sure.
Perhaps I am going off RPG's but this did feel like it was missing that extra "magical something" that captures your imagination and keeps you drawn in repeatedly, but for the week or so I played it it was all that I did.

When I started laughing in a good way, not at the animations but at the character interaction I knew that I was hooked. The crew interactions have some wonderful suprises, more comedy and playfulness in this than the first three games.
I haven't once felt that the characters are reading a script, I saw that mentioned a few times in reviews, than echoed on various user replies. I think maybe some of the story cut out, they are going to make more of these, so some things are left open to continue in MEA2.
All in all an 8 out 10, the animations are a little whacky, only thing I have seen wrong with this game, brings me back to ME1 which was the most exploration oriented of all the ME games while keeping the combat aspects of 2 and 3.

Currently a 9/10 for me, couldn't care less about the whining about animations, and only thing right now holding it from 10/10, is the overly annoying travel system and the waiting while the same animation plays for each and EVERY planet 😣
the research/build menues feel abit clonky, and i also think there's perhaps too much of it, with 3 different techs, and subtechs of those, but that's a minor complaint
