To those who are resetting the game with the trainer on and options enabled and still getting reset skills, I've found that it will only load properly with all your cheated skill points on manual saves and not autosaves. For some reason the autosaves seem to reset the skill points as well, regardless of whether you had the trainer on and option enabled or not.

This applies to any unearned XP as well. Speaking of which, I'd like to know if anyone's figured out whether leaving the xp/skill cheats on long term will still allow your character to level up normally or will keep you at the level on which you first enabled the option. I'm not sure at all.

Also, an important note, when you're unlocking your skills with cheated points, the order in which you put them in is very important as, if you turn the option off and load the save without the trainer, the skills will be filled out in the order you put them in with the amount of skill points you're supposed to have.

Oh, by the way, the no-reload option doesn't work if you craft a gun with a grenade projectile mod on it. Like if you take the Piranha shotgun and put the sticky grenade modification on it, when you fire it'll have infinite ammo if that option is enabled but the clip will gradually empty and you'll be forced into reloading. Also, reloading doesn't always work when this happens so all you can do is empty the clip first.

I just wanted to post my appreciation for all the work on the trainer, and specifically this explanation... I had been losing my mind trying to figure it out.

You guys do excellent work, know that it is appreciated, even by those who don't say it.

    Hello all,

Does anyone know on a new character just starting the game...I leveled up then I do a save, deactivate the option as well as the trainer, then save again and continue playing. When I come back to the game my level reset to level 3. if there a fix for this? I understood how the skill are working but am not using Mega Skill Points but rather Easy Level Up.

    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Blakefur

I read about the Skill reset issue on here, but it still seems to be happening for me. I always enable Trainer options before I load save. I have a question though, does it matter if I select "Resume", or do I need to select "Load Save" to get around this issue? I have been selecting "Resume". Thoughts and help appreciated

Resume usually selects an auto save, you need to make sure you hit load save and select the manual save you made when you finished playing previously.

Is this thread dead? Have anyone else encountered this problem anymore? I'm still dealing with it. I use the trainer to unlock the skills, manually save and restart the game. Open trainer n' game, activate trainer n' options PRIOR to load the save (not resume), and when it does, everything unlocked by the trainer is reset. I also tried opening the game without the trainer but same result. Both the Easy XP and Mega Skill Points keep resetting endlessly. This is the same bullsh17 that happened with ME3 tho leveling up with the trainer solved it. This time it doesn't. I assume that, since the last post on this thread is from months ago, sh17 on everybody's end is working or people gave up on it. Most likely the first. Would hope anyone who still watches threads of this game can help out.

What Caliber explained about the Skills on the previous page still applies.

    Link

That's what I did, too, I activated the trainer at the menu then turned ON the Skills option, then I always loaded a Manual save game and not use Resume if you use the Easy Level option. Has worked for me thru 2 plays going on 3 now. If you want to use more skills than your level allows or all the skills, that's what you can do.

It's no big deal really, after awhile it's just naturally what you do. Just be sure to do a manual save before exiting so you have it when you return. If you only plan to play once then maybe you'll want to use the Easy Level but if you plan to also play again like on NG+ and/or a harder difficulty, normal levels were fine. I ended up using the skills option but not the Easy Levels. Too many problems if you forget and resume or load an auto save. You lose levels and skills and your squad lose theirs. Was much easier and more fun just using the skills.

    😉

It's working now. On my frustration i probably did something wrong.
Sorry 'bout that. Though the easy level cheat still doesn't work.
Only the skill points. But no matter.
The easy level, to me, was only going to be useful to counter
the level restrict blueprints of the game, but since i found
a mod that removes it, i don't need it any longer. Thanks again for the help.
