@danmegan99: If you don't know the value you start by scanning for 'unknown value'. Once completed you going to make the value to change ingame. Then scan for either increased or decreased. Sometimes if a bar decreases ingame the actual value increases. So if the first run was not successful you do the same but instead of increase and decrease you scan for changed/unchanged.

@sjdswanlund: Jump values are most of the time booleans with a value of 1 or 0. Its different from game to game. Sometimes 1 means you are allowed to jump. Sometimes 1 means you are currently jumping. I would recommend you start an unknown value scan and then work with changed/unchanged. Walk around a lot without jumping and scanning for unchanged should filter out a great bunch of results. If you are jumping you should pause the game. If the game does not let you pause you can pause the process with COsmos or simply enabling the 'Pause while scanning' option.

@kentkent83: It's not quite clear what you have done but assuming you just scanned for values and saved them to disk. They might become invalid if you restart the game. Then you have to search the values again. To avoid this you need to learn basic of assembly and write scripts using the debugger (requires Cosmos Advanced)

There is a very basic video tutorial, step 6 under "CoSMOS Advanced Walkthrough":

Hello. I'm very new to using Cosmos and I just have a few questions. I did follow the tutorials but I can't seem to get some stuff working.

So, I'm playing Fantasy General II right now: store.steampowered.com/app/1025440/Fantasy_General_II/

I used Cosmos to find the values for Gold, Weapon Materials, Armor Materials, and Army Units in Battle. After some testing, I got these addresses:

    Gold - 200698B76C8

    Weapon Mats - 200698B76F8

    Armor Mats - 200698B76B0

    Units in Army - 20069610F10

So far so good. I kept testing them within the game and everything was working fine. So, I just saved this as a table.

The problem is when I reload the save. The table I just made no longer works. Nothing happens even though I've restarted Cosmos (or the game) and the new process is opened.

The only time it seems to be working is when I'm doing tests within a particular save. Reloading it and trying to get the values for the addresses to work again is the problem.

    Am I missing something?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Hi...
I've been using CoSMOS Beginner for quite some time and it's a very useful tool.
Scanning for values and modding them has been much easier. However, it's not the same when it comes to freezing the timer. Because of that, I've watched many freeze timer tutorial videos and start using CoSMOS Advance. I thought it would be okay since it's similar to CoSMOS but somehow, I don't get the results up until now.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong or I think I'm missing something. And this game I'm having problem freezing the timer is Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 & 2. The game itself doesn't have the timer, but the timer is like another program attached to it and act like a flip switch.

I know hacking requires experience and I'm willing to learn if someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong. That way I can learn and next time I can try doing it again with other games, to see if it works. I know it's not easy. If someone would be so kind, to show how this freeze timer hacking works, if not in-game by default, I'd deeply appreciate. Thanks!
