by the way, for people whos say

just install the yukon dlc

1) this may make my install forever be only compatible with yukon
2) may break the trainer and I have no guarantee I can reproduce those options on yukon
3) future trainers may require you have the yukon dlc, so there will be people without it who claim the trainer don't work for them.
4) having to make 2 trainers (or more if there are more dlc) every patch, when this game patches every other day...

I can attest that the newest CH trainer for the game, CH trainer 1692784, has 2 options that STILL DO NOT work with this (newest,recently-updated Steam) version of HCOTW:
Yes, it's still PgUp(super speed)...this doesnt work at all, and PgDn (freeze animals)...it freezes people (Soylent Green is made from people!)
Neither of these 2 options work in ANY of the reserves, as well,which is very frustrating. I cannot uninstall the latest DLC (Yukon); the game updates always include any new DLC, which "lies dormant" until purchased as a DLC.
Knowing nothing of coding or programming,I'm not sure why this latest DLC broke these options in the trainer, and I sincerely have great faith that the geniuses (I don't use that term lightly) at CH can figure this out. Thank you guys for all your efforts!

I've done one last test for y'all - and it gets even more confusing... Again using 1692784, deleted the whole game from my drive, including save file from documents/avalanche. Redownladed from steam. Started on Layton lakes, trainer back to working. Went to Yukon, to verify it breaks... It didn't. I could use speed/freeze still evein inside the Yukon reserve...

Loaded back in my saved profile folder from C:\Users\username\Documents\Avalanche Studios\COTW\Saves - back to broken. So I dunno what's doing it. Based on the first test, just going to Yukon DIDN'T break it, not as a single variable. But something in the overall profile did, while a new clean profile works without issue.

Guess for giggles, I can always just start with the new clean profile from scratch with no progress and play/progress till it breaks, see if I can narrow down some other trigger point. Yay

Short followup, even more confusion abounds. So after I did the full reinstall, and it wasn't broken, I replaced the one set of files in C:\Users\username\Documents\Avalanche Studios\COTW\Saves. That broke it. However, clearing THOSE files and letting it regen a clean copy didn't fix it.

So I tried C:\Users\username\Documents\Avalanche Studios\theHunter Call of the Wild\Saves. Even though I didn't nuke those between the first run where the trainer worked and when I "broke" it. Figured maybe the first dir was writing some backup file to the second or something (not sure what the difference between the two is - both have a profile folder for what I assume is the steam ID, with various files).

So it seems like whatever is getting written/modified is part of the steam folders or elsewhere, not part of the save game.

The only good news (maybe) is that if you DO buy Yukon, and do a full reinstall - you *might* be ok until you've gone to Yukon, or something else triggers the fault.

Don't feel like trying to do another 40gb uninstall/reinstall to see what happens if I try resetting my profile and not going to Yukon and seeing if it keeps working - based on my previous experiences where I could repeatedly load the newer version before going to Yukon and have it work, I assume that would be safe, but just spitballing. I haven't done any coding since TurboPascal back in middle school and dabbling in html/JS back in college, so I may be on entirely the wrong tacks, but make of my 'spearmints what y'all will. Hope they're useful in some way/shape/form

sorry for being a little confused now, i just bought the game and thought about buying most of the dlcs.

is yukon the only dlc that broke the trainer? can i buy the other ones and may be able to use the trainer with all its features?

Strangely enough, it looks like my request for ANOTHER trainer update is the only one so far (only "1" listed). That being said, thank you for the studious and time-consuming testing. I frankly don't feel like uninstalling/re-installing this bear of a game, especially since I've purchased all the DLCs and have had all the updates. You deserve a medal.
All the CH trainers for HCOTW, up to this one,once CH matched the voluminous patches and kept current with this always and forever-updated game...have always worked just fine. But this Yukon DLC/install seemed to have broken the trainer for good (re. the two non-working commands)? I hope not. I love playing this game but unlike so many younguns I don't have unlimited time to play games, so I NEED the speed and frz animals functions to properly enjoy the game. I think those are the two most important commands in the trainer, outside of no re-load and health mode (which work, thank goodness).
I hope it gets fixed and someone figures this out.

did you buy all the dlcs at once or one bye one when they came out? did the trainer work with the other dlcs?
