That is due to security software 9/10 times. Add exclusions to what ever you have.

Please disable/uninstall all antivirus, firewall and other security software including browser addons and extensions. Right click "Run as Administrator" on trainer and game. Please note that some security products may still block access to trainer injection even when disabled and must be completely uninstalled. If this is the case, please contact the product vendor for instruction on the proper way to prevent the trainers from being blocked by their software or find a better alternative.

    or

Extract trainer and make sure trainer/launcher/editor is in a folder excluded from virus scans. Empty quarantine folder if needed or set anything trainer related (paths and EXE's) to ALLOW. Disable any Live/Active/Real-Time tools which may trigger false positives in security software that may terminate the game/trainer when it's activated or options used.

    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens

may need to be added to exclusions as well. Click and select "Run as Administrator", read the instructions and try again.

I went to play this game (STEAM version) for the first time in years. I am unable to run the trainer as it says "Trainer cannot find game". I've verified that the game is up to date through Steam and came back okay. I've tried checking and unchecking the D3D12 option, as well as running the DX11 and DX12 versions of the game. Made sure AV is off, and in case, allowed the trainer. I've also tried running DX11 and DX12 versions of the game directly, bypassing Steam with no change.

    RAM: 32GB Crucial Vengeance RAM
GPU: NVidia RTX 2080TI Founders Edition
HDD: WD Black 512GB NVMe, Samsung 512GB 850 EVO SSD, 1 TB WD Blue

CASE: Core X5 Tempered Glass Edition

I was able to resolve this issue based on a previous post I read about Nvidia Experience and reverting the changes. I ignored that previously as I hadn't opened Nvidia Experience or even signed into it, so it shouldn't be optimizing games as you usually need to run a game at least once for it to work usually.

Anyway, here's the steps I took to resolve it:

    1. Open the trainer.

    2. I had opened Nvidia Experience, remembering my credentials and sign in.

    3. Run the game and verify the D3D12 option is unchecked.

    4. Allow NE to detect the game and figure out the optimized settings. You can tell that NE is optimizing as it takes a very long time for the game to load.

    5. I then went back into NE confirmed the changes were made, pressed the revert button and the game instantly loaded.

    6. With the game at the main menu (after the configuration menu), activate trainer.

I was having this same problem, the trainer not seeing the game. I tried all the usual stuff, checked the forum, saw this and tried it too, but geforce experience doesn't even seem to see the game. sniper elite 3 is listed, but not 4, so I don't know what else to try.

I don't see anything in game to even switch to dx12 either.
