This is going to be a touchy subject for a great many members here, and I am hoping to touch on this a delicately as possible given the subject matter.

Since the release of Conan Exiles I have watched a trainer created by the team here at CH be made multiple times a day, every day since its release. While this dedication is admirable as we have in deed paid for a service here at CH is it truely a useful way for them to spend their time?

The team here at CH has not only dedicated their time and money for Conan, but other games like ARK which has had 47 trainers and lord knows how many trainer updates since June 3rd of 2015. That's more trainers than any other game on the CH website that I personally have ever seen, and Conan Exiles will quickly catch up to this as it is patching multiple times daily. The Long dark, Subnautica, ARK, Stranded Deep, The Forest, just to name a few, are all EA games, all provided with a trainer, and all continue to be patched on a regular if not daily basis. The folks working here at CH have to keep up with this because they try and provide this site with the best trainers for the biggest majority of games. Is it fair of us to ask them to continue to do this though?

It is fair to mention that all the games I listed above I have played, and I do indeed love the fact that I have been able to use a trainer for them, but again is it fair to expect more and more updates on these titles on a regular basis with almost no end in sight for the majority of them? These games have been in EA for years, even when they have posted on steam and other platforms that EA is expected to last 6 months to a year. Long dark had its first trainer posted in September 2014, Ark Jun 2015, Subnautica January 2015, The forest Jun 2014.

Does anyone else see a problem here? Instead of being able to invest time and energy into new game options, new tech, new ideas, these guys are working themselves over for games that will most likely NEVER leave EA. They work on these trainers because there is a call, a need, while many have so many built in cheats baring a few, that I even ask myself why and I am not the one making them!

Conan Exiles has a built in Admin cheat system, god mode, free crafting, invisibility, flight, warp, why do we insist on HAVING to have a trainer for it? The same can be said of subnautca, and ARK. That then begs the question why do we need one NOW? Sure after EA is over maybe we will lose that admin window or in game cheat window, but we have it, NOW, so why do we insist on needing a trainer?

Lastly I am not telling CH its business, I am not telling them their services are not admired and apperciated in any way, I am asking its members, is this what we want them dedicated to? Daily patches and updates on EA games that may well never leave EA? Is that what we wanna do to these great people that let us play all these games our way?

I agree with you. I think the time would be better spent on non-EA games as opposed to the perpetually updating EA games. I had to uninstall ARK from my PC as I got fed up with the countless updates for a game that I would eventually get round to playing. I wouldn't be surprised if, as soon as a trainer was released for some of those games you mentioned it was already needing updated.

I appreciate the hard work done by the CH guys but it may be better for the guys who create the trainers to either give the EA games less focus e.g. update once a week or less often or just ignore them outright.

There are many aspects which makes it difficult to keep up with trainers nowadays. Early access, multiple distributions, different patch levels (opt-in beta versions), mods. But in the end everything that matters is if we can provide the same level of service as we always did. And we're working hard to do so or even better.

For myself I think that dealing with patches is one of the easiest way to show that to our customers, as well as adding requested features. A service is a service and didn't stopped at the point we released a trainer for the first version that came out.

Fist thank you very very much for responding OX, I think you guys go above and beyond in the service you provide here at CH. I have time and time again seen the hard work provided by yourself, Cal, Pwiz not only in the trainers provided but the support you all have provided for those trainers. Because of that I am a proud supporter of Lifetime Plus, because buying my life time simply wasn't enough.

I again will say thank you for the work that you all do for all the titles, but a even bigger thank you for the continued work you all do for all the EA titles.

    @Loki1147

I understand your point and mostly agree with what you are saying, the main problem is that it's not going to apply to all of our users. Many users are just now purchasing or acquiring these games and appreciate (or expect) an updated trainer to be available. Same goes for users thinking about signing up for a membership. If they see that we only update the games once a month or every two months or not at all, then they are less likely to purchase a membership which is what allows us to continue operating. We're in a catch-22 situation.

ARK, which was updated 4 days ago already has downloads from 330+ different members. Long Dark over 375 downloads, Subnautica 988 downloads and so on. Now, if each of these updates had 2 people downloading them, then we would likely consider either retiring the game or placing it on hold until the patches slow down. Company of Heroes 2 has had 77 different trainers made for it since 2013, the most recent with almost 2000 downloads. People are still playing these games and so we try our best to keep the trainers updated. Some games we have had to retire, like the Van Helsing series because they were just patching over and over and re-writing the entire game with every other patch causing us to start completely over. This is typically when we have to put the game on hold or just retire it. Luckily most games only move the content around slightly so it's much easier to find the code locations and update the trainers.

@0x90 is spot on with his answer. We are working every day, many hours a day, every day of the year, including holidays and when we are on vacation as this is the site that never sleeps. Every day multiple new games come out along with multiple patches for other games. We take even a day or two off and then the work piles up and it's very difficult to catch up as the influx of new work never lets up. We've put new measures in place over the last couple of year that better help us to gauge the interest in both new game and updates. It requires multiple people to report an update before we look at it and each new title has to fulfill it's reward credit goal before we start working on it. This has helped as before we had to re-download, re-install, re-patch and re-check every trainer that one person said wasn't working only to find out that it is working correctly. Those things kill our time more than anything.

Like 0x90 said, supporting games through multiple patches as often as possible and adding in user-requested options whenever possible is what we have done since day one and is likely the reason we remain so successful despite all of the other free trainer sites which typically only update a game a handful of times and then move on. We are dedicated to providing the best level of service to our subscribers as we possibly can. The only problem is that these issues just grow and grow each year as a lot of titles being released in Early Access may stay in early access for years. Conan Exiles is about 10% finished and likely won't be done for years, if even at all. The more work that continues to pile on each year requires more resources which we can only provide by selling memberships. That was one of the reasons I reached out to our Lifetime members late last year to let them know about Lifetime PLUS as unless we bring in more revenue we cannot hire additional dedicated programmers.

So, we will just continue doing as much as we can afford to do and keep our promise of providing users with the most up-to-date, feature-rich trainers on the internet.

Thanks for Responding Pwiz, I know many of us scratch our heads and wonder why you guys continue to go above and beyond to bring us trainer for games like Conan, and now we know.

So for anyone like me asking these same questions in the Conan Exiles thread here is your answer from Ox and Pwiz themselves.

Cheers guys and thanks for letting us know!

This...this is why I'm a lifetime plus member of this site. We're not just looking at the Mods who do the job ACTUALLY thinking about the people, but people ACTUALLY thinking about the Mods, (wording could use some help, I'm really tired lol). I feel the same, as in, the amount of work all the programmers put in for all of us is just out of this world, and the respect that they deserve is tremendous. Honestly, if anything, I think they deserve a day or 2 each week off to just sit back and unwind and maybe actually get to play some of the games they program for. We all get a day or 2 off, why shouldn't they. And I also agree with loki on the games such as ark and conan, but also see Pwiz and 0x90 point, sometimes though, it's okay to say a game needs a day or 2...just my opinion though on that one.
