I'll try to help you with the research points glitch when using option 1 of the trainer.
This is how I manage to do it and it works for me.
First of all, you have to find a research point in the map without using any option of the trainer. I use one located in Marin, in the first zone after the prologue, below a dock, in the marina. Stay very near from the desired point.
Then, restart the game with the trainer. I use the version just before the new release of today, with option 6 and 7 broken. Activate option 1, then return to the main menu and from there, resume to your game.
Afterward, go and grab the research points, with the quadricopter in my case, and you'll see that it remains on the minimap.
Last, go back to the main menu et resume to the game. Grab again the research point. Do it as long as you need.
It is tedious but it works for me.
I tried to be as clear as I can, but I'm not natural in English...^^ I hope it will help you.

I am finding this trainer, even the new version doesn't work
I run the trainer and go through the finding the game exe file like normal then get a clear see through box on my screen and nothing happens, game doesn't start and if it does on the odd chance it keeps say trainer cannot find game
you have to click on the steam icon and then click the OK TO LAUNCH THIS GAME button or whatever, which is in the instructions.
