Was having the same issue with the Civ6 trainer. skbak mentioned adding the folder the trainer was in to the exclusion list on Windows Defender, here's a link to her post in that thread. Worked like a charm for me.

This fix does indeed fix the problem for some people but not for others. We're still working to figure out why.

I've been trying to use Batman arkham knight trainer and witcher 3 trainer and both suddenly started to say invalid trainer user since yesterday.
Windows 10 64bit
Don't have an AV installed
Yes, i've tried with an offline key.
Nope, i haven't updated windows 10 since i installed it (October 7)
Nope, i haven't tried unistalling windows updates prior to sept 28
Trainers not working for me: Batman arkham knight, witcher 3, dishonored, borderlands 2, Doom, Rage, Oceanhorn. Working: NONE
I downloaded these trainers and they authenticate just fine and no other complaints. Something on your PC, network or ISP is blocking the authentication process.
Make sure you completely disable Windows Defender and Windows Firewall that comes with Windows 10. Offline keys will only work if the PC is completely unplugged with all network connections disabled. Make sure you right click run as admin on the trainers and that you have full permissions to the windows temp folder.
