Just curious if anyone been using McAfee that found a work around to it deleting trainers right away. always feel paranoid having to turn off real time scanning. It also always finds things when it off and I turn it back on but that could be the trainer it deleting. Been trying to find a way to just exclude my trainer folder that I download all my trainers to. I thought I could before but doesn't seem a way to. Just wondering if anyone does any other work arounds then turning off real time scanning. Trainers are working great...wish I could say the same for McAfee. Thanks for any advice you can give.
I personally don't have much experience with McAfee but surely there is a way to whitelist a file or folder from realtime scanning. Maybe contact McAfee support and ask them or ask them to remove the false virus detection signature on our trainers so that you don't have to do it in the first place.
Alright, just figure I ask here first cause last time i had a problem with McAfee support took a bit to try to sort it all. Thanks though.
You have to let McAfee have a look at it to get it WhiteListed. I was running into that same problem, all I do is just turn it off for 15 minutes and then open the .exe file for that game ( example Divinity Original Sin 2 ). When when the Real Time Scanner is back on, 15 minutes later, the trainer is still activated. Just note when you quit the game. The Trainer is instantly removed.
McAfee doesn't allow you to manually add files to a Whitelist. Instead you have to wait for it to list it under quarantine. After that, you can select the file in the quarantine list and add it as a Trusted File to omit it from scans.
This is not guaranteed to work.
Thanks, I'll give it a go. worst thing that happens is i just keep turning if off and on. try contacting support also , so will see if that helps at all
Hi, a few years ago when I was using McAfee I encountered some problems with certain trainers. After reading through some forums I went with Windows Firewall/Anitvirus (Windows 10)and Malwarebytes. Although Malwarebytes occassionally causes problems with older trainers, my computer and trainers run close to perfectly. I found McAfee itself was the problem as well as cumbersome and it slowed down my PC.
McAfee, I posted about McAfee about 10 weeks ago I had used McAfee for years until this year they have gone over the top with their security updating and stopping my Trainers from running so I took the plunge and Binned that software now I have limited cover on my PC but getting rid of McAfee was worth it.
I am very careful where I go on the net and touch wood I am ok, if the day arrives when I get attacked then I will go via Kaspersky I think I have spelled it correct lol and that is that.
