It all depends on perspective. I grew up a time when your average game took about two and a half hours to beat, if we're being generous (Super Mario Bros). Even a "long" game like Legend of Zelda clocked in at around 10 hours. While I do appreciate dumping hundreds of hours into Skyrim or Fallout 4, 30 hours is also fine. For me it's the quality of the story and the gameplay that matter, not the length. If I like it well enough, I'll just play it again anyway.
Fair point, and the game was good as was what was there of the story, but to me it still felt far too incomplete, I still think it felt like half a game.

Without question the story must be good. But alone it can not cover the the mony hungry behaviour of the Square Enix. Are we talking about AAA games? There are the already mentioned two excellent and honourable examples: Fallout 4 and The witcher III. Booth of them are based on a good story, still giving us 100+ hours with the expansions, and none under 24 hours on the basic game itself. Actually the Witcher III is more than 45 hours on main quest. So what are we talking about now?
Deus Ex Human revolution DC was 24 h.
Deus Ex was 23 hours.
And the sad black sheep was Deus Ex Invisible wars with it's 9 hours
It's sad that people these days think 20-30 hours of gameplay is good, I remember when games had 80-100 hours.
80-100 repetitive gameplay or ACTUAL new gameplay? Yeah thought so, everyone has their opinions, most games that do have 80-100 hours are repetitive storyless content which makes me bored, I need something new and interesting else I get bored of it.
