Downloaded game fresh from Steam. Used 1.3.0 trainer and worked perfectly first try. I even made a video for proof.

Thanks, I will try to reinstall the game then, maybe something is wrong.

Edit: Reinstalled, still crashes. I'm gonna try downgrading to 1.21 next, maybe that helps

The 1.2.1 trainer works, but I just can't get the 1.3.0 trainer to work

Could it be because of the expansion?

No idea. The video I made is the with 1.3.0. We do not own any of the DLC.

I found out why it didn't work. I started the trainer from a SMB share (my home server). This caused the crashes. Strangely this works for all other traienrs.

I still have the crash and i just can't figure out why. If i activate the trainer in the main game it will hang the trainer for a bit (10-30 secs or so after the "activated" sound), before the game will crash, though the game is running fine till the crash. If i activate at the main menu everything is fine until i start the main game and it instantly crashes. I tried the usual stuff (admin, AV), but it still won't work for some reason. I also have the DLC, but as it doe work with it i doubt that is the reason. The trainer is also on a local drive, so that can't be it. First trainer i have actually problems with for some reason.

It sounds like something interfering with the trainer injection process which is typically security software. Some packages like Webroot and Comodo for instance, still block some of our trainers even when completely disabled and must be uninstalled.
