I've been very interested in the upcoming indie game Starsector. Looks to be a more modern version of Space Rangers or SPAZ 1. In reading the developers page it is stated to be single player only game without an announced release date. I came to Cheathappens to see if the game had been requested enough for trainer development. To my surprise the game is already listed as retired.
I've read a few of the boards for games that have had previous trainers retired and the explanation for no further development looked very justified. What confuses me however is that a game has been retired before release with an explicit statement of being single player only, and no board message as to why a trainer would not be developed.
If a game has an online component and using a trainer would ruin the experience for a non-trainer player I understand completely. Seeing a game unable to be requested for a trainer before release though confounded me.
Did the developer request no trainers be produced? Did I miss a post on Starsector somewhere else (if that's the case my apologies)?
Again, I'm not begging for a trainer or complaining. I was purely curious as to the reason regarding the retirement of this game and any light that could be shed would be appreciated.
Thank you sincerely for you reading this and the efforts that the Cheathappens team has put in.
