A new game has come, called Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem (previously known as "Umbra". Early access just launched on Steam, and it's built on CryEngine 3.
It will feature offline mode AND full modding support. And let me tell ya, it is breath-taking.
The only thing that Diablo 3 truly got right is the smoothness and fluidity of combat & animations, something that Grim Dawn & Path of Exile fail miserably on. And yet, Wolcen looks even better than D3.
Naturally, keep in mind it's in early access, so it's gonna have lots of bugs & performance issues. But once it reaches final release candidate status, I predict it will be a potential Diablo killer, especially considering the incompetence of Blizzard's D3 dev team & the downward spiral that game is on. Can you imagine awesome mods like D2's MedianXL recreated in CryEngine3?
Looks like people are reporting some major bugs. However, one of the devs has jumped on Steam to inform everyone that an outdated build was accidentally released in place of the latest one, in which several crash-bugs have been fixed.
Perhaps you should give it a few days or a couple of weeks for the worst to pass, hopefully it'll have received several much-needed patches by then.
