I saw that at least one other person has the problem of the AI getting fast research too but I didn't see if there was a way to stop that. Does anyone have any tips/tricks to get that to not happen? Many thanks, apologies if this is old hat.

File a report for that issue. I have just written one, as I had the same problem in my game.

Every AI player had as much resarch points in the score overview as I had. I had fast resarch on and was expecting to lead one a big margin in this field.

Can anyone of you having this issue please provide a savegame with exact and easily repeatable instructions so we can reproduce the issue.

Please provide the location of the save game, what situation it is in the game, what trainer option to choose, what DLC or mods are installed if any and anything else you could add -> write this in a new post where you upload your save file.

You have to zip/rar the save file before uploading it here in the trainer thread.

Please create a new post, click -Attach file/paper clip- icon below the main text box, select the zipped file and submit your post as usual.

I pressed F1 in the game after loading the save.
-> Advance to next round (just build something on the planets) (Cheat will fail in current round).
-> Activate Research cheat
-> Research something

You will notice that the player and the AI will get 100 points each round in the Path to Victory Screen in the Technology section. So the AI seems to research at the same speed as the player

Just got the game yesterday and tried the Trainer. I used the fast Research on the trainer and I thought it was working great but when I checked the score progress, I was in third place out of 4 players (3 AIs) on the Research Score, lol. Apparently, all players get the Research cheat. Last post about this was from last year, so I guess it won't be fixed?

I don't see that they've said no but there's still only one report the trainer needs updating and it usually takes three. Do a report here:

Updated to 2 reports now.

But clearly very few people are still playing this so even if it did get a third report it would be a very low priority.

Game is still playable without the research option anyway, and I would argue more enjoyable too.
