this appears to be an interactive visual novel.. not really a 'game'.. what exactly would the trainer do?

There are some VNs that has other game elements, in this you collect coins to buy gifts and unlock things

Yeah, basically just for unlimited coins. Potentially also could do unlimited "Focus" and "Influence" (I think that was the term they used, basically the amount of times you can screw up before you lose.)

I've given up on trying to get the value for the coins to change(as well as trip cards in school mode). Every time I change/freeze the value, it goes down one unaffected. I'm not sure if this is because I'm on a mac(too lazy to bootcamp and try windows) or if the devs don't want people cheating.
