    Completely turned off my Anti-Virus and Firewall as well as ran the Trainer as Admin.

    Booted up completely fine and "found" the game without issue.

    Still, the keys don't appear to have any effect except for the audio que "Activated".

    Therefore I'm guessing it just needs to be updated.

    Yup, trainer needs to be updated. Please be patient until a third member files a report about it.
    Good for health, bad for education.
