But you still have to boot up the trainer to activate them every time, right? If there was a way to just make it really easy to earn the gears, then the game would treat your gear accumulation as a natural thing that's supposed to happen.
Yeah you still have to start the trainer and press F1 for the mods cheat to work. As for unlocking gears in another manner, that would be a Caliber question.
Hey guys. Um, I have NO idea at all if my problem is even remotely related to the trainer but I played the game for about an hour earlier. When I went to play the game again, it started from the very beginning as if it didn't save at all(I saw the save icon several times). I was using most of the trainer aids.
Does anyone have any idea what might have caused this? I don't really see how the trainer could have anything to do with it but I thought I would ask here in case someone else has experienced this.
I really wish you could manually save or at least give you more than 1 save file.
Thanks for any help you might provide me. I really appreciate it.
I believe when you are signed out of Square Enix it stops saving your progreess
There have been some talk about the "Easy unlock gear mods" option in the trainer.
Like you have to "re-do" the selection again after a restart of the game.
Now here's my problem.. the trainer option "works" on my computer, I can select the "mods". But when i exit the menu and enter it again it's all gone ??
Only the ones i unlocked with out cheat stay.
I think someone said in an earlier post that if you activate the option again it turned them on for him/her and remembered all the stuff they had unlocked. I haven't tested it myself but worth a try?

Yes the mods you unlock with the cheat stay, but you just don't see the green gear showing active as if you had done it through a challenge.
You simply enable the cheat. Activate whichever mods you want, you may unlock them all, but I have some disabled. When you go back into mods, shows no green gears, but mouse over and will show ACTIVE. Play as long as you wish and exit.
TO RENABLE the mods after coming back into game, you have to have the trainer on and just press "zero". It will enable whatever you had before. You can also activate and deactivate to your hearts content. You DO NOT have to select every single mod, every single time.
This is tested and working over 15hrs of game play even after PC reboots.
Hope that helps.
