Playing as the Western Empire I reached a point where the generals and governors started to dislike me in increasing numbers. I distributed as much influence as I could to secure their loyalty, but I run out fairly quickly. I tried using F9, that gave me more than enough influence points to fend off the nobles, but then I gained 100% Dominion and 100% Control, following which stability in many of my provinces began to plummet. I gather that excessive power increases unhappiness in the provinces.
Is there any way to get fewer influence points, say 100 to 200 at a time, or some way to dispose of them after you've used them?
