I'm not far from the end of the game now I think, and I suppose this is the beauty of having not played an MGS game since Metal Gear Solid back on the PS2 - I don't really care as much about the story. I watched a catch-up video before I started playing to fill in some of the blanks, but I'm obviously not really invested as much as many other people were going in.

I'm at about 160 hours played now, doing absolutely everything I can, and whilst I haven't quite finished the story yet (46: Truth: The Man Who Sold The World is sat there waiting for me), I can easily and happily say this is one of the most entertaining games I've played for years. It's also one of only two or three games from the past few years where I actually hope they do start making DLC. Compared to most titles I've played lately, I've definitely gotten my money's worth, and now I just want more

I hope they do to baby.

@Quintus That ep does not even feel like an end at all. Still to much left open sadly.

Fair enough, that. I'll find out soon enough (Once I stop whimpering over Quiet xD). Perhaps it was left at a cliffhanger for further content? I'm guessing here (And/or hoping).

It sounds a bit like the Mass Effect 3 syndrome though - Fantastic game in almost every respect, then it took a nose dive right at the finish line.

Kojima had stop caring after MGS2.

MGS 3 was very good. And if Kojima stop caring why so many "Kojima" in the game?

Sorry I didn't put the context very well. Kojima cared about the series but not the direction Konami wanted to take with it (Solid Snake = $$$ for them). There was a lot of friction between him and Konami and Kojima was always wanting to take the game in his direction more. It got to a breaking point with this game though. I'm not sure if Kojima Productions is still operational after this game got released.

    Your bitterness, I will dispel

THe game got killed by Konami because Kojima spent all their budget on voice actors like Keiefer Sutherland & licensing the 80s music etc. Had they used cheaper voice actors they would have had the money to make the game the way they wanted.

Though we might see chapter 3 as DLC. There's an entire fight and long cutscenes where Snake destroys Sahelanthropus with Eli piloting it. It's available to watch on youtube. And we still haven't seen Frank Jaeger since Portable Ops, so he needs to make a return too.
