I'm very happy about this feature! Most of the game I've spent on building. I'm just low on building materials soo... I need to explore the world more.

I just with there were more furniture options and other type of walls. I mean I would really appreciate if wooden walls would not be like... ONE BIG HOLE

What happens, if anything, if you collect all the villages/settlements?

The biggest thing I've seen is that you can place a artillery piece in each. Plus using the flare gun will call more minutemen to you aid. The settlements will come under attack often if there defences are low. I think anything below 500 while cause a lot of attacks and the enemy will be in the form of Raiders, gunners mutants or syn. Never know what will strike . I outfitted all settlers with weapons and armor. It will prob come to light end game as to how much help you get from settlements. Hide your generators if you possible because they often have at least one missle launcher and wiil target them if they can, And it seems that turrets are the only thing that really counts towards defence.
And books will add to the items you can build in settlements like statues, plants, flags, and more.
As of now I have all I can find after more than 180 hrs of gameplay.

I was hoping for an achievement or something from unlocking all settlements, for example: Community Leader

There still may be one. I just got another settlement that wasn't available before added to my list. Warwick was with atomic cats. now they asked minutemen for help so I guess there are still more to get
You do get community organizer achievement after ally with 3 settlements so I would hope there is more.

You get that if you do the entire Minuteman Quest/Storyline Quests.

As for settlements, Nexus Mods has some nice mods for settlement building. There is one that removes the build limit, there are bat files that allows building more stuff. There are mods that give you more items that Bethesda did not put in or decided to not put in for the PC users.

And there is this nifty console command... scrapall - Suggest you use that command near a active workstation. (Note of warning, using said console command nearby any areas where there are quests in progress or starting quest areas can and will break your quest lines)
