the beacon only gives, randomly 1 settler per day, though sometimes, very rarely I've gotten 2 in the same day. Am looking for a way to spawn them in as well...I hate waiting...

I had radio beacon going in all of my settlements in my first playthrough, and I never got above 8-9 settlers in Sanctuary, even though I had everything needed. I was hoping there might be a cheat to spawn a settler in my villages.

    You need:
    player.placeatme 00020593 1
change the final number to whatever you like. Remember that settlers is limited to your Charisma, so you might also need:
    player.modav charisma 99
again, change the final number to anything less than 247 (I think).

I tried editing my charisma to 99, still couldn't give the settlers jobs. Some walked off, others just stayed there, I could click to command them, but none of the jobs I could normally assign settlers would work. (Food, security, artillery.) It did summon them, so that's a step in the right direction.

after you placed a settler with the console command , click on him, when still in settlement building menu then click move, and choose a settlement to assign the settler to. then he will stay and do assigned jobs

So not to spoil anything but There is island in the game that you can build on and its huge! When you go into workshop the green boundary encompasses the whole island it extends into the water all the way around it to include some ships. Were talking an epic settlement here larger than any town. Glad I cheat.

I too am intrigued by this "island" as I have been playing for 56 hours so far, I've only gotten to diamond city with the storyline as I have been busy saving and claiming new settlements... but I have yet to come across the island one. Oh, and I'm not sure what I do differently than everyone else, but I've got about 12 people at sanctuary and the most I've gotten at once was 6 in one game day without cheating my stats... heh.

I believe I found the island they meant, I don't really see it as a spoiler, so I'll just say. It's Spectacle Island, to the east, and Island directly south of Fort Strong.

Note, it has a lot of Mirelurks. It also had a Mirelurk King in my playthrough, I might have to try setting something up here, thank goodness I have a mod that triples the limit on how much you can build.

EDIT: Also, it comes with power, the people that tried to settle it before you connected power lines to a half sunk ship with a circuit breaker generator that gives 20 electricity.

    Spoiler:
To get rid of the mirelurks just go to the ship and activate the generator, then follow the wires to a metal shack in the middle of the island and turn the device inside on, it activates speakers that drive them crazy.
