    Depending on how its done. Its a Single player / Multiplayer.

    i think people are missing the point.

    diablo 3 is singleplayer as well. but you cannot access the "game" without logging into the Blizzard servers.

    I am guessing a game with a quadrillion stars and planets is probably created and run on a server somewhere (i.e. a trainer is impossible)

    I watched a vid and they talked about it be prosiduarly created and when you left that place it was removed and logged on a page file type system. This is possible for SP. They dont stay there active like.

    they also said that world would generate the same for every play as it uses a mathematical algorithm to render the world based on a code from the server, so that planet is always in the same place and will always be there for every visitor.

    it's the same thing as they have also been pushing the discoveries as the main interaction between players as it will mean other players fill in blanks in the universe for each other as all the finds go to a central database that allows players to name things they discover for everyone who ever goes to that planet or looks in the database.

    There was a podcast questionnaire Shaun did with GameInformer, offline was asked, and the answer was yes.

    Specifically:

    "Is it conceivable to play this game offline?" "Uhh, yes! Yeah you can."

    What that exactly means though is debatable.

    I really want to say I recall watching a video where he explains that of you are offline, then it's literally just you and your own discoveries, the game makes no connection to the servers, but I could just be imagining that. ;-;

    No Man’s Sky Offline Mode Created After Developers Got Tired of Finding Planets Named After

    As reported in the latest Edge magazine, players can discover the infinite universe of No Man’s Sky without having to play online. It was originally not a high priority goal for the team until they discovered that over 70 percent of nameable objects were named after .

    "When we held the first semi-open beta for the game, I was pretty optimistic until I came across topia,”

    Said Sean Murray, managing director.

    “It only got worse when I actually landed on topia and discovered an animal named sucker33. Apparently, sucker1 to sucker32 were already taken.”

    From my understanding you can play offline (Without the internet) but most events are saved. So if you blew up a space station offline then went online. It would tell the server you blew it up and it's gone(Not 100% sure on this part). Thus screwing everyone else over. So even if anything could be made for the offline part. It should be something that won't damage things if they did go online. Like No damage for players on planets. Since if ships had speed boost from the trainer, people could get to the center of the galaxy and name things (Planets, creatures etc) just by using a trainer. So I guess we'll have to see when it comes out in 3 months if we get a trainer or not.
