Have you seen this?
I can't even imagine how much this would have changed the gaming landscape that we have today.

Maybe they were in attendance at the Consumer Electronics Show in 1991, where Sony showcased its Nintendo-endorsed vision for a SNES-CD, which it branded with a "PlayStation" logo.
I bet the Yeti & Sasquatch did team up with Phillips in their quest to build the gaming system of the future. Stupid Sony, what do they know.
Long live Phillips gamings systems...and the Yeti & Sasquatch too!
Nintendo and Sony did come together to work on a new console to take on Sega. But Sony decided to part ways later.
And the Playstation was then introduced.
Shame the guy who had it was a heavy smoker, that yellow nicoteen stain doesn't do it favours.
Once again, Sony didn't just randomly decide to "part ways later". They were branded by Nintendo as the inferior company, basically dismissed from service, and the rest is history.
from the article...
"At the Consumer Electronics Show in 1991, Sony showcased its Nintendo-endorsed vision for a SNES-CD, which it branded with a "PlayStation" logo. Nintendo shocked Sony, however, by suddenly announcing--at the same show--that it would be partnering with electronics firm Phillips instead.
Incensed and embarrassed, the Sony executive Ken Kutaragi began to internally lobby the company to fund plans to build a console without Nintendo's support. The outcome of that plan, also called the PlayStation, brought about a tectonic power-shift in the games business."
